How do you like your Math Night: Mild, medium or spicy?
LAKENHEATH, United Kingdom – Math Night was back, and this time, it brought the heat!
The recent Math Night was one of the most successful and well-attended events Lakenheath Elementary School has hosted in a long time, and it is easy to see why. With 15 teacher-led and volunteer-run stations, the gym was buzzing with excitement, curiosity, and hands-on learning from start to finish.
The evening celebrated math through art, literature, geometry, measurement, and numbers, offering something for every learner. Students and parents moved enthusiastically from station to station, creating math-based crafts and projects they proudly carried home — proof that learning can be both meaningful and fun.
What truly made the night special was the incredible support from the military community, who stepped up in a big way with over 20 volunteers. Their energy, encouragement, and engagement helped keep stations running smoothly and made families feel welcome and supported throughout the evening.
One clear crowd favorite was the Estimation Center. It was a huge hit and the perfect way to wrap up the night. The station sparked conversation, friendly competition, and a few "aha!" moments as families tested their number sense together.
Of course, no great event is complete without refreshments. A big thank you to the PTA for adding a little extra spice to the night by providing chips and salsa, which were enjoyed by all.
From start to finish, Math Night was filled with laughter, learning, and community connection. Judging by the smiles, full hands, and enthusiastic feedback, LES families definitely like their math nights spicy, and LES cannot wait to serve it up again!
