Lakenheath Elementary School celebrate Purple Up Day with A Fistful of Biscuits
LAKENHEATH, UK – Lakenheath Elementary School’s Purple Up Picnic was filled with music, celebration, and cultural connection as students and families gathered to honor the Month of the Military Child. This year’s event featured a special performance by A Fistful of Biscuits, a volunteer band from London’s Redbridge Music Lounge, made possible through sponsorship by the Host Nations Program.
Sharing the Joy of Music
Redbridge Music Lounge is a charitable organization dedicated to advancing public education and the appreciation of music. The band shared classic hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and beyond, creating an energetic and joyful atmosphere. Families enjoyed singing, dancing, and learning together, and many parents used the fun moment to introduce their children to new musical genres and traditions.
Strengthening Cultural Ties
The band members expressed that participating in the Purple Up Picnic was particularly meaningful to them. Their goal was to celebrate our wonderful military-connected children while strengthening the deep cultural ties between the United States and the United Kingdom.
